2B2 Internal HACCP Safety Window Film
2B2 safety film is an internal window film for glass panes. It helps protect against the scattering of glass fragments if the pane is broken.
Four benefits of 2B2 HACCP (BRC) safety window film
Window film protecting glass after breakage
2B2 internal HACCP safety window film has strong protective properties. The source description states that the film meets the requirements of the European Union directive and the HACCP system.
The film also meets the BRC standard.
2B2 safety film helps protect glass against shattering. This helps avoid glass pieces getting into products such as food. For this reason, one of the main applications of 2B2 safety film is glass protection in the food industry.
The film is also used for many types of protection where glass elements are exposed to mechanical damage, including shop windows, standard windows, glass facade elements and other constructions such as glass partition walls.
The film has the following approvals:
- approval from the Building Research Institute,
- Hygienic Certificate.
Technical notes about safety window film
EN/PL 12600 specifies strength-related requirements for glass with 2B2 protective film. It defines the construction of the impact-test device, the loads used during testing, the type of glass being protected and, above all, how the glass unit protected with film must behave to obtain the 2B2 classification.
This makes it possible to verify that the film parameters are suitable for the requirements of the specific glass construction.
A film with class 2B2 is tested with an impact from a greater height than 3B3. In the source description, this is explained as better protective properties against the effects of mechanical damage to glass.
EN/PL 12600 classifies safety glass by safety classes such as 3B3, 2B2 and 1B1.
EN/PL 356, on the other hand, classifies protective glass more commonly known as burglary-resistant glass, using protection classes such as P1, P2, P3 and P4.
Older classes such as O1 or O2 are not normalised and cannot be used as a basis for HACCP or BRC certification. They may still appear on outdated websites about window films, but the safety classes 3B3, 2B2 and 1B1 under EN/PL 12600 are the relevant classification used here.
