Eco-Termic – Lite Solar Thermal Insulation Window Film
Eco-Termic – Lite Solar thermal insulation window film is designed to improve the thermal performance of existing window glass. Installed on the interior side of the window, it helps reduce heat loss during the heating season and can also limit room overheating during warmer months.
This makes Eco-Termic a practical solution for interiors where older glazing causes noticeable heat loss, cold glass surfaces or reduced comfort near windows. Instead of replacing the complete window unit, the film is applied directly to the existing glass to support better year-round thermal comfort.
Where does Eco-Termic work best?
The film achieves its strongest visible effect on single glazing, where the improvement in insulation is usually the most noticeable.
A clear difference can also be felt on older double-glazed windows, especially in buildings where windows are responsible for noticeable heat loss.
On modern triple-glazed windows, the improvement in insulation is generally smaller, because this type of glazing already provides a higher level of thermal performance.
Why choose Eco-Termic thermal insulation film?
Thermal insulation window film is a useful option when you want to improve the comfort of a room without replacing the glass or the complete window unit. Eco-Termic supports better insulation in winter, while also helping reduce excessive heat build-up in summer.
- Improved thermal insulation: the film helps reduce heat loss through the glass in winter and supports a more stable indoor temperature.
- Better comfort near windows: by improving the insulating properties of the glass, it can reduce the feeling of cold close to window areas.
- Energy-saving support: by limiting heat loss in the heating season, the film can help reduce the need for additional heating over time.
- Interior installation: Eco-Termic is installed on the room side of the glass, so there is no need to replace the whole window.
- UV protection: the film reflects harmful UV radiation, helping protect furniture, carpets and other interior items from fading.
- More sustainable use of existing windows: improving existing glazing can be a practical alternative when full window replacement is not planned.
Thermal insulation window film for winter
Eco-Termic window film is used to help reduce heat loss through glazing during the heating season. After installation, the real thermal transmittance value “U” of the glazing unit may improve by up to around 20%, depending on the type of glass and installation conditions.
A lower “U” value means reduced heat loss and better insulation of the window in winter. This is especially important in buildings with single glazing, older double glazing or rooms where the glass surface feels cold during low outdoor temperatures.
How Eco-Termic thermal insulation film works
Eco-Termic is a low-emissivity thermal insulation film. It is installed on the interior side of the glass and supports a reduction in heat transfer through the window. In practice, this helps keep more warmth inside the room during winter.
The film is especially useful in rooms where windows are a weak point in the building envelope, such as older houses, apartments, offices, service premises, public buildings and other interiors where replacing the glazing is not the preferred solution.
Thermal camera comparison
The comparison below shows the principle of operation of thermal insulation film. The test was carried out on two panes in the same external door: one pane was covered with Eco-Termic thermal insulation film and the other pane was left without film.
The central pane has Eco-Termic thermal insulation film installed. The surrounding panes are used for comparison.
Thermal camera image of the same door. The filmed central pane shows a higher surface temperature than the untreated glass.
The thermal image clearly shows that the pane covered with thermal insulation film has a higher surface temperature than the pane without film. In the test, the temperature of the glass with film was 19.5°C, while the temperature of the glass without film was 13.8°C. The measured difference was 5.7°C.
This difference illustrates how Eco-Termic can help reduce heat loss through the glass and support a more comfortable indoor environment in winter, especially where the glazing is older or less efficient.
Where can Eco-Termic thermal insulation film be used?
Eco-Termic thermal insulation window film is suitable for many interiors where improved window insulation is needed without replacing the existing glass. It can be used in residential, commercial and public spaces, provided the glass and installation conditions are appropriate.
- Homes and apartments: for rooms with cold windows, older glazing or noticeable heat loss during winter.
- Offices and workspaces: for improving comfort near glazed areas, especially where desks are located close to windows.
- Public buildings: for schools, offices, service points and other facilities where existing glazing needs better insulation.
- Commercial premises: for shops, reception areas and customer spaces where thermal comfort matters throughout the year.
- Older buildings: where window replacement may be expensive, difficult or not planned, and improving existing glass is preferred.
Additional summer benefit
Although Eco-Termic is primarily intended to help keep heat inside during colder months, this reflective thermal insulation film can also help limit overheating in hot weather. This additional benefit makes it a year-round solution for improving comfort around glazed areas.
The film is installed on the glass from the room side. Thanks to its low-emissivity properties, it can positively affect the thermal transmittance value “U” of the glazing unit.
Important note
If you are mainly looking for a solar control film to reduce incoming heat in summer, please see the dedicated solar window film categories below.
Eco-Termic thermal insulation film is primarily intended for situations where the main goal is to keep heat inside the room during colder periods.
