P1 Silver Interior Solar Security Window Film

P1 Silver security window film is a “two-in-one” window film. It combines the function of a solar window film with the protective function of a security film that makes forced entry into the room more difficult.

In everyday use, the film works as a solar window film, helping reduce excessive heat build-up and improving comfort inside the room. At the same time, it strengthens the glass and helps keep broken fragments together after impact.

Security and solar control in one film

During an attempted break-in, the film helps prevent the glass from falling apart immediately. The broken glass remains held together by the film, making it more difficult to pass through the pane and enter the protected room.

P1 Silver interior security window film is installed on the interior side of the glass to provide solar protection and burglary-delay protection at the same time. It is a practical option when the glass needs additional security but the room also suffers from solar heat.

An additional benefit is the one-way mirror effect. From the outside it becomes difficult to see what is happening inside, while people inside can still see outside. This effect works until the light is switched on in the room.

In addition to its solar-control layer, the film keeps the same basic advantages as the interior P1 security film, because it is the same protective film with an added metallic coating.

Approvals

The film has the following approvals:

• Building Research Institute approval;
• Hygienic approval.

Installation conditions for security window film

• The minimum application temperature is +5 °C. The glass must be perfectly degreased, and the film edge should be tucked under the gasket, which reduces the risk of the film being lifted.
• Full strength is reached after approximately 30 days of adhesive curing. During this period, slight haze or a water mosaic may still be visible.

Maintenance

Clean the film only with a soft cloth and ammonia-free cleaning agents. Blades, abrasive powders and aggressive tools may scratch the anti-scratch surface.

Insurance and safety regulations

Certified P1A film may be recognised by many insurers as an additional security measure and, depending on the insurer, may help reduce property insurance costs.

In schools, nurseries and public offices, this type of film can also help meet occupational safety requirements for safer glass partitions, including the requirements referred to in Dz.U. No. 75/2003.

Does the film darken the room?

Yes. The film darkens the room because effective heat reduction also requires a reduction in visible light.

How does the one-way mirror effect work?

The metallic coating reflects daylight and provides privacy from the outside. When the light is switched on inside, the effect disappears; the principle is the same as with classic reflective window films.
