Polycarbon Silver Solar Window Film for Polycarbonate Skylights
Polycarbon Silver is a specialist exterior solar window film designed for polycarbonate skylights, rooflights and polycarbonate roof panels. It helps reduce solar heat gain before it enters the building, improving comfort in interiors where roof glazing or polycarbonate light bands cause excessive heat build-up.
This type of heat reducing window film is particularly useful in large, sun-exposed spaces such as warehouse halls, production areas, factories, workshops, logistics facilities and commercial buildings fitted with polycarbonate rooflights. In these interiors, direct sunlight can quickly raise the temperature below the roof, make workstations less comfortable and increase the demand for cooling.
Why standard window film should not be used on polycarbonate
Polycarbonate expands and contracts under the influence of temperature much more than glass. For this reason, an ordinary window film intended for glass should not be applied directly to polycarbonate panels. Polycarbon Silver is a specialist film with high thermal expansion properties, created for this type of surface.
The film is intended for exterior installation. It has a protective layer resistant to weather conditions, so the functional layer is positioned directly in the path of solar radiation. This exterior placement helps protect the space below the skylight more effectively against overheating. For polycarbonate skylights, exterior application is the applicable solution.
Main benefits of Polycarbon Silver film
- helps lower the temperature under polycarbonate skylights and rooflights,
- improves comfort in rooms, halls and industrial spaces exposed to strong sunlight,
- can help reduce cooling costs over time by limiting solar heat gain,
- reflects more than 80% of the solar radiation falling on the film thanks to its mirrored surface,
- blocks 99% of harmful UV radiation, helping reduce fading of interior equipment and stored goods,
- is designed for exterior use and weather exposure.
How the reflective surface works
The silver, reflective surface of Polycarbon Silver sends a large part of incoming solar radiation back outside. As a result, less heat reaches the interior through the rooflight or polycarbonate glazing. This can make a noticeable difference in spaces where the roof is the main source of heat build-up during sunny days.
The film is especially valuable where rooflights are needed for daylight, but uncontrolled sunlight causes overheating. In warehouses, production halls and factory areas, it can support more comfortable working conditions without changing the whole roof structure.
Applications
Polycarbon Silver film can be considered for exterior use on polycarbonate skylights and roof panels in buildings where solar heat gain is a practical problem. Typical applications include:
- warehouse halls with polycarbonate rooflights,
- production halls and factories with roof glazing or light bands,
- logistics centres and loading areas exposed to direct sunlight,
- workshops and service buildings with polycarbonate roof panels,
- commercial and utility buildings where overheating below skylights reduces comfort.
Because the film is dedicated to polycarbonate, it is a more appropriate choice for this substrate than a standard solar control film for glass.
Safe packaging and shipping
Polycarbon Silver film is shipped in safe, well-protected cardboard boxes.

Whether the shipment goes to 80-008 Gdańsk or 15-016 Białystok, the film is packed carefully so that it can arrive in very good condition.
