How to Buy Window Film

You have several options:

  • By the running metre – film supplied in rolls of a specific width, for example 91, 122, 152 or 183 cm. You buy as many metres in length as you need.

  • Cut to size – you provide the exact dimensions, height and width, and we cut the film to size so it is ready for installation. The quote is available in 30 seconds. Learn more about cut-to-size window film.

  • Buying by pieces – in this model, one piece of film corresponded, for example, to 0.5 running metre. This generated a lot of waste that customers had to pay for, and the unused film still ended up in the bin. That is why we have stopped using this sales model. Our goal is zero waste – we want to reduce film waste to a minimum. We carefully match orders and pack them in strong, eco-conscious packaging using responsibly selected materials. All this helps us work practically and economically.

  • Buying full rolls of film – this option is intended for installation companies and people working on larger projects. In this case, you buy a full roll of film with a specific width and factory length, for example 30.5 running metres. This gives you the best price per metre and full freedom to cut the film into any formats during installation. It is an ideal option for frequent projects or larger glass surfaces.

Window Film – A Simple Guide for Beginners

Are you wondering what window film actually is and what it can be used for? You are in the right place. This guide will show you step by step what window films are, how to choose them and what to pay attention to in order to avoid mistakes.

Window Films Most Often Chosen by Our Customers

Silver 20 Comfort exterior solar window film – when heat reduction is the main priority.

Perfecta exterior solar window film – when you want heat reduction without a silver one-way mirror effect.

Tetto solar window film – when you need a film for a sloped window or roof window.

R20 Silver interior solar window film – when exterior installation is impossible or very difficult.

White Matte milky window film – for increasing privacy and diffusing light.

P2 anti-burglary window film – for improving window security.

Common Mistakes When Choosing Window Film

Not every film works in the same way, and mistakes are easy to make. Online, you can find a lot of incomplete or even incorrect information, often repeated by sellers who focus only on selling rather than matching the right product to your actual needs.

The most common mistakes are:

  • Matte film and smart glass do not protect against the sun – they do not reflect heat because they do not contain a metallic layer.

  • Standard solar window film does not protect against burglary – it is too thin and does not perform a protective security function.

  • Car window film is not suitable for home glazing – it may lead to glass cracking. Unfortunately, it is often sold on other platforms because of its low price.

  • Mirror film does not work at night – the mirror effect works only when one side is brighter than the other.

  • Film with poor adhesive can peel off quickly, especially on large surfaces or under the influence of moisture.

  • Low-quality films can distort the view, look like dirty glass or fade quickly.

  • Buying the “darkest film” does not always mean better protection – the coating type often matters more than the colour alone.

  • Exterior film can only be applied on the outside of the window. The same rule applies to interior film, which is intended for interior installation only.

We have been working in this industry for over 20 years. We have tested hundreds of film types and completed hundreds of installations – from apartments to large commercial buildings. This experience has given us practical knowledge that we use every day. Over time, we have also built our own testing laboratory, where we check the quality of materials and their real properties.

That is why, when buying Lite Solar films, you can be confident that you are choosing a tested, high-quality product designed to work not only in the first year.

How Long Does Window Film Last?

Interior window films are covered by a warranty from 10 to 15 years, depending on the type and intended use of the film.

Exterior window films have a warranty from 3 to 10 years, also depending on the film type and conditions of use.

Detailed warranty information can be found in the Technical data tab for each film, in the Warranty field.

After the warranty period, the film usually continues to perform its function, although over time it may gradually lose some of its properties and slightly change its appearance.

Our range also includes fully legal automotive window films, matched to different parts of the vehicle and compliant with regulations applicable in Poland.

How to Recognise Good-Quality Window Film

High-quality films:

  • Are transparent and do not distort the image.

  • Have the right thickness.

  • Are easy to install and last for a long time.

Low-quality films:

  • Are very thin and difficult to install.

  • Provide a weak mirror or solar control effect.

  • Have a cloudy, dirty appearance.

  • Lift away from the glass and deteriorate quickly.

Is DIY Window Film Installation Difficult?

No. Window film installation is fairly simple and easy, but it requires some patience. You will need:

How to Care for Window Film

Window film does not need to be cleaned more often than the windows themselves, but remember:

  • Do not use abrasive products, steam or a pressure washer.

  • Do not use cleaning products with strong detergents.

  • Be careful with scratches, for example from metal objects or pets’ claws.

Window Film for Car Glass

For the front windscreen

  • anti-crack windscreen film – strengthens the front windscreen, protects against stone chips and reduces the risk of glass fragments scattering in the event of cracking.

For rear side windows and the rear window

  • BLACK PREMIUM solar car window films – available in variants with different tint levels: 95%, 80%, 65% and 50%, so they can be matched to individual aesthetic and functional needs.

Each product offered has been checked for safety and legal compliance. The films are durable, aesthetic and safe in everyday use.

Other Uses of Window Film

Do you want protection against burglary? Choose anti-burglary window film – it strengthens the glass, makes it harder to break and slows down an intruder. It is an excellent additional protection for a home, shop or office.

Are you concerned about eavesdropping? Choose anti-eavesdropping film, which blocks radio waves and wireless signals – ideal for rooms that require confidentiality, such as meeting rooms or executive offices.

Do you want to create an elegant, semi-transparent surface with your own pattern? Choose printable frosted film – it subtly diffuses light, provides privacy and allows you to apply custom graphics or a logo.

Are you dealing with vandalism and unwanted markings? Use anti-graffiti film, which protects glass against paint, markers and scratches. It is easy to clean or replace, without the need for costly glass replacement.

Do you want to reduce heat loss in winter? Choose winter thermal insulation film, which reflects heat back into the room and improves thermal comfort. It can help reduce heating costs and make interiors feel more comfortable.

Do you want to turn glass into a projection screen? Choose projection film, which allows an image from a projector to be displayed without installing an additional screen. It is ideal for shop windows, conference rooms and displays.

Do you need compatibility with 3D glasses or special effects? Choose polarising film, which controls the direction of light transmission and is used in cinemas, LCD screens and specialist optical applications.

Are you tired of fogged-up glass? Choose anti-fog film, which prevents water vapour from condensing on the glass surface. It is suitable for bathrooms, shop refrigerators and rooms with increased humidity.
