How does photochromic window film work?

The film reacts to an increase in light intensity, especially sunlight. In moderate lighting conditions, it remains clear or only slightly tinted. As the light becomes stronger, the film changes its optical properties and limits the amount of light passing through the glass.

As a result, the film can help reduce uncomfortable glare and improve visual comfort in rooms exposed to variable sunlight. When the light intensity drops, the process reverses and the film gradually becomes lighter again.

It is also important to note that this is not electric smart glass film. It is not switched on or off by electricity. The darkening process happens only as a reaction to light.
